Biography
Tricia graduated from the University of Houston Graduate School of Social Work back in 2000, and for the past 26 years she’s pretty much done it all — hospice and home‑health social work, grief counseling, drug and alcohol counseling, discharge planning, intensive outpatient therapy, and even mental health work inside a jail. If it involves helping people through the messy, complicated parts of being human, she’s been there.
She specializes in supporting individuals who are navigating current stressors, old wounds, trauma, loss, or just that feeling of “I cannot do all this anymore.” Her style is warm, real, and grounded in helping people find hope, happiness, and a future that actually feels good. Life throws family drama, work chaos, and overwhelm at all of us — Tricia helps clients sort through it with compassion, humor, and zero judgment.
A big part of her work is helping people understand their triggers, set boundaries that actually stick, and build coping skills that make life feel more manageable. And yes — she will absolutely remind you that it’s okay to say “no” when something isn’t in your best interest. Sessions are a safe, supportive space where clients can breathe, reset, and learn new ways to move through life and relationships with more ease.
Tricia uses CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness to help clients feel empowered and capable. She currently works with adults (18+) through tele‑health in Texas and Arizona.
She was also late diagnosed with ADHD, which explains why she spent years wondering how she could be so smart, so capable, and yet constantly juggling 47 tabs in her brain. Now she brings that lived experience into her work — helping clients understand their own neurodivergent patterns, build systems that actually work for their brains, and drop the shame that so often comes with ADHD.
Tricia is currently expanding her toolkit by studying Life Coaching, Menopause Coaching (because women deserve better support during this stage), Yoga Instruction, Shadow Work, and Pre/Postnatal Coaching.
When she’s not working with clients at Symmetry Counseling, you’ll find her traveling, getting a massage, working out, doing yoga, practicing serious self‑care, or hanging out with her 17‑year‑old son and her 6‑year‑old Corgi — who runs the household and has absolutely no boundaries. She’s working on it. She is a GenX with a GenZ son and knows about 63% of his abbreviations and lingo.
