Biography
This is Regina. She’s worked in the behavioral health field for almost 8 years and has been licensed for 3 years. She has wished to help others as a clinician since she was 17. She also knows how scary it can be to open up to someone. That’s why she works to create a safe, empathetic, and judgment-free environment. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in Women and Gender Studies from James Madison University. She moved to Arizona 8 years ago and received a graduate degree in Professional Counseling. Through the years, she has worked with various populations, which has helped me to grow and learn more about herself and those she works with. One of the jobs she had the privilege of working in was behavior coaching before she became a behavior tech and finally, a mental health therapist. While living back in Virginia, she interned at an advocacy agency for survivors of intimate partner domestic violence and volunteered at an advocacy agency for survivors of sexual assault. While she has quite a history working with various types of people, it helped tailor her focus. She tailors her approach to what her clients need. Different kinds of people require different types of modalities. Not everyone functions the same way. Some of her clients like to understand the science behind things. Therefore, CBT, DBT, solution-focused, and understanding how the brain functions make for interesting and productive sessions. Some others prefer more abstract modalities and work well with visualization, inner child work, narrative therapy, and other mindfulness strategies. Additionally, when working with littles, narrative therapy strategies, play therapy skills, and interactive approaches are often preferred. Some prefer a mixture, which is completely fine. People know themselves best; this is their therapy. Regina is here to help. She can’t wait to collaborate with people on their mental health journey!
