Biography

Laura is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois, as well as being a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida and in the state of Indiana. She obtained her B.A., with a concentration in psychology, from Saint Xavier University, in Chicago, where she also minored in Pastoral Ministry. Laura obtained her M.A. in Gerontological Counseling from Adler University, in Chicago. She has served clients from 5 (yrs.) through 90 (yrs.) in academic, clinical, and nursing home settings. She approaches therapy within a client-centered climate, using the tenets of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), through a solution-focused lens. Laura helps clients identify obstacles and explore solutions, believing that if one wants something to change, one has to be willing to change. Laura will help the client to explore barriers, and remove roadblocks that have denied them their joy. Laura will work with her clients to explore their vision of a better life, in a quest to make it their reality. In essence, they will be on the journey together.

When Laura is not working, she enjoys time spent with family, especially her grandchildren. One of her most favorite pastimes is attending the Chicago White Sox baseball games. Laura takes advantage of the benefits of exercise, as they greatly contribute to attaining balance and minimizing stress in her life.
