Biography
Amanda (she/her) is passionate about working with people experiencing depression and looking for hope in the midst of hardships; people dealing with communication mismatches in relationships or navigating the dating world; and those working on regulating emotions that feel overpowering in life (aka mood swings, shutdowns, or “Why am I crying again?” moments). She also supports individuals experiencing life transitions that feel intimidating.
Amanda would like to invite you into a judgement-free, safe space. A place that empowers personal growth and exploration. She utilizes a supportive therapeutic relationship and a healthy dose of humor to identify emotions and behaviors. Amanda creates an environment to feel heard, understood, and supported. She is dedicated to exploring strengths and encourages her clients to make meaningful changes in their lives. She works collaboratively with clients to achieve realistic goals and challenges them to reach the best version of themselves.
Amanda’s approach to therapy is client- centered using evidence-based techniques in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused modalities tailored to meet each individual’s needs. Amanda earned a Master of Science Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Bonaventure University. She earned a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in holistic health from Oakland University. She has experience working with young adults, adults, People of Color, and the LGBTQ+ community.
