Alex Gay is a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clarity, and confidence. She is dedicated to fostering a warm, empathetic, and collaborative environment where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.

Alex earned her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Illinois. With over five years of experience in the mental health field, she has worked with diverse populations, including survivors of sexual violence, individuals navigating addiction recovery, and adults managing anxiety, trauma, ADHD, OCD, and low self-esteem. Her clinical background includes four years at a nonprofit supporting survivors of sexual violence and one year at a substance abuse treatment center serving both men and women. These experiences have shaped her belief in every person’s capacity for resilience and transformation.

Therapy with Alex is warm, conversational, and real. She meets clients with compassion and authenticity, while maintaining a goal-oriented focus that supports meaningful and sustainable change. Alex integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop self-awareness, confidence, and practical tools that enhance their daily lives. She tailors her approach to each individual’s unique goals and needs, ensuring therapy feels both grounded and transformative.
