Biography
If you are here, you may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or you are unsure what you are feeling. Whether you have been to therapy before or considering trying it for the first time, Emily is committed to helping you identify and remove the barriers of eating disorders, trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, and pregnancy and postpartum related stressors. Emily will work with you to remove these barriers by establishing a safe, empathetic, and supportive environment. In addition, Emily will work to facilitate a strong therapeutic relationship, which she finds to be a catalyst of change.
Although Emily primarily practices through a psychodynamic foundation, she offers approaches that support healing from trauma through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), as well as creating healthier relationships through Attachment-Based Therapy, and helping you manage symptoms and feel more fulfilled through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Originally from Chicago, Emily received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Communication from the University of Illinois and obtained a Master of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University. Emily offers a free 15-minute phone consultation for potential new clients.
